Syringe Filter Safety and Use Instructions  

Used to quickly remove suspended solids and CO2 gas from ESPRESSO beverages for accurate, repeatable refractometer measurements. 

Fine non-dissolved sediments in unfiltered espresso reflects rather than refracts light and can cause inaccurate or erratic measurements. CO2 gas infused into solution with fresh roasted and ground espresso coffee reduces refractive index causing inaccurate measurements. VST developed these multi-media syringe filters specifically for clarifying and degassing espresso prior to refractometer measurements to maintain VST's ±0.01% typical precision specification and are strongly recommended for  espresso measurements.

VST COF/ESP Syringe Filters are also suitable for use with coffee ground for filter brewing using perforated metal or woven mesh filters. 

Especially useful for trouble-shooting, testing and matching performance of single, double & triple espresso filters in espresso equipment during set up.
